The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is cheap, typically leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.
But this year, as protests across the Middle East have pressed up the rate of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.
In an area that has one of the highest carbon footprints on the planet, one company is benefiting from the growing pressure to discover options to oil. It's established the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing profitable too, currently their client-list consists of McDonald's.
